Student Successes

Many of our students decide to take their dancing to the next level and go on to dance and teach professionally. We are very proud of the amount of student’s that pursue their dreams to have a career in Dance and we make a concious effort to keep in touch with our graduates – Here are some of our students past and present and their success stories.

Betsy Barcock

Betsy was a Junior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

Marcus successfully auditioned to be part of the Male Ensemble in The British Theatre Academy’s production of Annie Jnr at Second Space in The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in April 2017.

Marcus was a Junior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre in April 2017. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

Marcus successfully auditioned to be in the Vivo D’Arte production of Oliver! He will be performing at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in August 2017.

Marcus has also secured his professional dance contract with ‘First Family Entertainment.’ He will be dancing in their 2017 Pantomime – Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

Ellisha was a Senior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre in April 2017. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

Ellisha also played the role of ‘Tigerlilly’ in our 2016 production of A Journey Through Neverland’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre.

 

Elfin BullElfin Bull

Elfin is currently a student at CSDS and aspires to be a performer when she is older. Elfin has secured 3 consecutive professional dance contract with ‘First Family Entertainment.’ Elfin has performed professionally at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in the following Pantomime productions.
Sleeping Beauty – 2013 alongside EastEnders Star Anita Dobson.
Cinderella – 2014 alongside Hear Say & Emmerdale Star Suzanne Shaw and West End Star Russell Grant.
Dick Whittington – 2015 alongside X Factor Winner Sam Bailey.

Elfin also successfully auditioned to perform with The English Youth Ballet‘s production of ‘The Nutcracker & Ballet Etudes‘ in 2017 at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

 

Natasha Churchill

Natasha Churchill

Natasha is currently a student at CSDS and played a starring role of the ‘Mouse’ in our 2012 production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Natasha successfully auditioned and perform with the English Youth Ballet in their production of Swan Lake.

She most recently took on the role of Tinkerbell in our 2016 production ‘A Journey through Neverland’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre.

 

 

Jessica ClaytonJessica Clayton

Jessica was a student at CSDS for over 14 years, she graduated in 2010 and successfully auditioned for a number of dance colleges. Jessica went on to study at ‘The Centre Performing Arts College’ and studied Dance and Teacher Training and gained her qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. She later returned to teach at CSDS in 2013 and is now the proud Principal of Castle Street Dance Studios, teaching Ballet, Tap, Modern & Zumba. During her career Jessica has performed with the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company in their 2015 production of ‘Giselle‘ were she played the role of the ‘Mother’. Miss Jessica was among the first of 9 teachers to train to become a TapFit Instructor. She is also a Qualified Acrobatic Arts teacher achieving 94% in her teaching exam!

Lucy Deanus 

Lucy successfully auditioned to perform with The English Youth Ballet in their production of ‘The Nutcracker & Ballet Etudes‘ in 2017 at The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

 

Harriet DuryHarriet Dury 

Harriet graduated from CSDS in 2008 whilst training with us she gained her Intermediate exams in Tap and Modern. Harriet went onto train and study at ‘Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.’ Between 2011-2014 she gained a degree in Dance and Fitness at Bucks New University, during her time at university Harriet taught our Street Dance classes at CSDS and was a fitness instructor at BNU Gym. In June 2014 Harriet was offered a contract with ‘Neilson Holidays’ as a Dance and Fitness Instructor – so far she has worked in England, Turkey, Italy and Dubai.

                                                                            

saskiaSaskia Douglas

Saskia graduated from CSDS in 2015 and went on to study a BA Hons in Dance & Drama at Royal Holloway University. Thanks to CSDS, she was asked to assist the choreographer for a production of Into the Woods in Autumn 2015. Saskia was also recruited by The Shakespeare Society and in 2016 was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Award for Cymbeline. Following her 2013 course and revue at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Saskia regularly works with Masterclass, helping with PR and the organisation of Drama School seminars and has attended seminars with visiting performers and directors such as Maureen Lipman, Michelle Terry and Jessica Hynes. She has taken part in workshops with classical director Kelly Hunter and Coral Messam , the movement director for the NT’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. In addition, Saskia has taken part in training days with The BalletBoyz. Trained and registered as a Motion Capture Artist, in 2015 Saskia was part of the ensemble company working with the FX unit on the latest Harry Potter film franchise, Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne. She is soon to play Margaret in a new play Margaret of Anjou at “Play! Festival” and has just co-presented a short film for the BBC One Show as part of their occasional series ” Growing Up With”.

Sophia Haynes-Sharriff

Sophia was a Junior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

Annelise was a student at CSDS for 10 years and played the lead role of ‘Clara’ in our 2014 production of ‘The Nutcracker’. Annelise successfully auditioned and perform with the English Youth Ballet in their production of Swan Lake. Most recently she took on the role of ‘Mrs Darling’ in our 2016 production of ‘A Journey Through Neverland.’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre.

Melia Kennelly

Melia successfully auditioned for in The British Theatre Academy’s production of Annie Jnr at Second Space in The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. Melia was selected to play the main character role of ‘Pepper‘ in in April 2017.

Melia was booked for another production with The British Theatre Academy in August 2017. This time for their production of ‘The Adventures of Pinocchio’ at The Ambassadors Theatre London

Eleanor Grace Lecky

Eleanor was a Junior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

 

 

 

Adam MillardAdam Millard

After leaving CSDS, Adam trained with the IDTA in stage branch, at London Studio Centre and Stella Mann College, and still works with the society. He has numerous theatre credits behind him, both in the West End and internationally, including Cats, Honk!, 42nd Street, and Gypsy. He has choreographed and directed for a wide range of companies across the country and currently has shows in Japan, UK touring and Broadway for Disney Productions and Cameron Macintosh. As well as being a freelance dance teacher and examiner, he is Head of Faculty in a local school. He is a specialist Musical Theatre and Tap teacher and he also runs the Chesham Dance Festival.

 

Harriet MillsHarriet Mills

Harriet danced with CSDS for more than 15 years gaining all of her Intermediates in Ballet, Tap and Modern. After finishing secondary school Harriet took a gap year to study to become an ISTD Teacher with the guidance of Charlotte Chan. During her gap year Harriet achieved  her ISTD teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap & Modern which she took at the Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College. Harriet taught our Saturday dance classes at High Wycombe for 2 years before leaving in 2010 to pursue career as a psychologist in mental health.

 

Alice PettiniAlice Pettini

Alice played the lead role of ‘Lise’ in our 2012 production of ‘La fille mal gardee’. Whilst training with CSDS Alice successfully passed her Intermediate exams in Ballet, Tap and Modern and Advanced 1 Tap.  Alice Graduated from CSDS in 2014 and successfully auditioned for a number of dance colleges. Alice confirmed her place at ‘Performers College’ and started her 3 year dance and performing arts course in September 2014. Alice danced in the FA Cup Final held at Wembley Stadium in 2015. Since being at College Alice has become a qualified teacher with Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing passing her DDI in Ballet, Tap & Modern in 1 year!

Natasia played the role of Wendy in our 2016 production of A Journey Through Neverland at The Wycombe Swan Theatre.

Natasia successfully auditioned for the English Youth Ballet and performed in their 2016 production of Sleeping Beauty  at The New Oxford Theatre.

Natasia was also a Senior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

 

Daniel PirieDaniel Pirie 

Daniel graduated from CSDS in 2010, during his time with us he successfully made it to the semi-Finals of ‘Britains Got Talent‘ in 2008. After graduating from CSDS he went on to study the dance course at ‘Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.‘ As well as being a trained dancer, Daniel has had some professional acting experience appearing in an independent film called ‘Who Needs Enemies (With Friends Like These) as ‘Adam’. Daniel is now a professional dancer actively working within the industry, his recent credits include; Chrysalis Dance a London based contemporary dance company. Daniel has performed in the Opera ‘Aida’ appearing in their 2015 performance of the opera in London. Most recently Daniel has performed with the Royal New Zealand Ballet in their production of ‘Giselle‘ playing the role of the ‘Axe Man’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Daniel will be making his West-End Debut in the English National Opera’s production of Carousel The Musical at The London Coliseum in April 2017.

 

amyAmy Sansom

Amy Graduated from CSDS in 2014, she was an assistant teacher for many years helping with Ballet, Tap & Modern classes. Amy gained her ISTD Intermediate Tap whilst at CSDS  where she then went on to study at Warwick University. After a term of lessons and performances with the Warwick Tap society Amy decided to run for a position on the executive team – Amy is now the Secretary of the Tap society which means she helps with the social media and communication of the society with it’s members, as well as helping with the organisation of classes, competitions and the largest dance show at the university. Amy also teaches a beginner tap class and choreographs solo and group dances up to an advances level. In addition, Amy performs in competitions and shows for the Tap, Ballet and Lyrical classes.

Andrea SmithAndrea Smith

After graduating from CSDS Andrea auditioned for Roehampton and was offered a place on the Dance course but decided that performing wasn’t enough for her! Andrea took a degree in Sports and Coaching at Oxford Brookes. She then continued to The University of Southampton where she studied for a PGCE in PE. For the last 7 years she has been working as a P.E teacher & Head of Dance at secondary schools on the South coast and the South West of England. Andrea currently works at one of the top 20 State secondary schools in the country, and teaches GCSE and A-Level Dance. She has recently gained a Masters in Global Leadership in Education. In her spare time she still likes to perform in panto- taking lead roles in Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Snow Queen. Andrea returns to teach at the CSDS Summer Schools every year.

Daisy Taylor 

Daisy was a Junior ensemble dancer in the 2017 Easter Pantomime ‘Beauty & the Beast’ at The Wycombe Swan Theatre. Starring along side Keith Chegwin, Basil Brush, X factor’s Stevi Ritchie and Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough.

Theo Tekindag

Bonita WrightBonita Wright

Bonnie graduated from CSDS in 2010 and went on to gain a degree in Dance and Performance at Bucks New University. She also gained her teaching qualification in Freestyle dance with the IDTA examination board, and is a qualified Zumba instructor. Bonnie is a qualified cheerleading instructor  with the UK Cheerleading Association and also a certified Acrobatic Arts Teacher (AAC1).
